RawStudio
Privacy policy. Last updated 9 October 2026.
RawStudio collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app does not send your photographs, or anything else, anywhere.
- Your photographs stay on your device. Editing, subject detection, face detection and export all happen locally.
- Photo library access is used only to open the picture you choose and to save the one you export.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. RawStudio is told only whether the unlock has been bought; it never sees your payment details.
- No data is shared with the developer or with any third party, because none is collected.
Face data
These tools in RawStudio work with faces: Skin Smoothing, the Face tab (Eye Size, Nose Width, Smile, Face Width), and the Subject and Background masks. This section is everything they do with faces.
What face data is used
When Skin Smoothing or a Face slider is away from zero (because you moved it, or because you reopened a photograph you edited that way), RawStudio asks Apple's Vision framework, on your device, where the faces are in the photograph you are editing, and where points along each face's outline, eyes, eyebrows, nose and lips lie. From those points it works out which pixels are skin and the skin's average colour and brightness, so that only skin is smoothed and only the features you chose are reshaped. When you add a Subject or Background mask, Vision is also asked whether the photograph has a face or a person in it at all, which gives back only rectangles.
RawStudio does not use the camera, the TrueDepth camera, ARKit or Face ID. It does not make face templates, faceprints or any other identifier, and it cannot tell who a person is.
How it is used
Only to make the edit you asked for, to that photograph, on screen and in the file you export. It is never used to identify or recognise anyone, and never for advertising, marketing, analytics, profiling, data mining or training any model.
Where it is stored
In the app's memory on your device, while the photograph is open. RawStudio never writes face data to storage. The record it keeps so you can reopen your work holds your slider values (for example “Eye Size +20”), not face points or measurements, and an exported photograph holds the edited picture and its original camera details, never the face data described here. Because it is never stored, it is in no backup, and it never reaches iCloud or any server.
How long it is kept, and deletion
Only while the photograph is open. It is discarded, at the latest, when you close the photograph, open another one or quit the app, and is worked out again if you reopen the photograph. Nothing is left afterwards to delete. Your saved slider values go back to zero when you reset the photograph, and are removed with the app.
Sharing
Face data is not shared with the developer or with any third party, and it never leaves your device. RawStudio has no servers, no analytics and no third-party code that could receive it.
If this ever changes, this page changes with it, before the version that changes it ships.
